Thalia Gatzouli (b. 1966, Drama) is a Greek artist and nuclear medicine physician, living and working in Thessaloniki. The website’s objective was to function as a comprehensive online portfolio, faithfully showcasing the multifaceted nature of her work, whilst focusing on its core characteristics. To achieve this, each work is first presented through a menu system linked with corresponding full-screen photos, so that the visitor may get a grasp of the artist’s oeuvre in its entirety before focusing on any individual artworks. The navigation is simple and straightforward, albeit with a hint of dynamism, so as to as to maintain a proper balance in relation to the work’s doric formal and conceptual aspects, whilst the elements upon which the whole design approach was based are a direct reference to the artist’s own choices — some of the most prominent of them being: materiality, a muted colour palette and a clean, scientific approach.
